A Trip to Yogyakarta part 2

December 4 - The last day

We decided to try the best gelato in town. Il Tempo Del Gelato. It reminded me of Gusto in Bali somehow. Ohh... endless options.

I fell for praline and coconut chocolate chip flavor. It was hard to leave the thai tea flavor.

For late lunch, we ate at Pondok Cabe. I ordered a packet of grilled fish, sayur asem, rice, sambal and tempe mendoan. So goood.

Were we in airport already...?!

Sadly we had to go back to Jakarta and the office the next day.

The glimpse of wayang at the airport.

A Trip to Yogyakarta

On December 2-4, 2016, the Special Project team (the team which I work with) had the chance to go for a short getaway to Yogyakarta. So now I want to share most of my journey from Jakarta to Yogyakarta. I was excited because this was the first time I took a train to other province in Indonesia, I really wanted to experience it.

December 2 - The first day

We gathered first at the office and decided to take the train (we rode on Bima executive train) from Jatinegara station due to the chaos near Gambir station (the demonstration).

To fulfill my hunger, I decided to go to Seven Eleven and instantly attracted to their onigiri. It was good but the filling was not too generous.

Finally, all aboard at 4.30 pm and we sat at the front. My friends on the pic above took the right side, I was on the left.  It was so comfy.

The view from my window.

We arrived at about 1.30 am, then we went straight to Punthuk Setumbu to see the sunrise.

Again, to fulfill my extremely hungry stomach, at a little kiosk near Punthuk Setumbu I first ordered Energen ginger flavour which was so comforting in the middle of cold winter at dawn, and Indomie was obligatory.

Then we went up the hill (in a form of stairs made of stone) to get to the upper part. The efforts paid off, the view was magnificent and calming, and this was the sunrise (I tried to capture it as good as I could).

Next up, Gereja Ayam. It obviously looked sort of like a chicken or a bird maybe. It was quite interesting. I have to tell you that the most challenging part of getting to this place was the path that we had to go through. We literally went through the jungle and had to watch our steps. Thank God it didn't rain that time. When we reached the top floor of the church, the wind was so good we eventually slept in our chairs that time...

Finally, late lunch. We stopped at gudeg (traditional Yogya food) place to have gudeg of course. My meal comprised of rice, krecek, shredded chicken, gudeg, sambal and an egg. Delicious... miss it.

For the drink, I ordered teh tarik to warm my body a little bit.

Next destination was Ullen Sentalu Museum, a museum that preserves Javanese cultures and kingdom's histories.

They displayed such fascinating masks. Each color of the mask has its own meaning. The red ones mean evil, the white ones mean kind heart and the black ones mean eternity.

We were told that this jamu (Indonesian traditional drink) was kind of an anti-aging concoction and made from a secret recipe. Believe it or not.

The mueseum prepared a spot for photo. We weren't allowed to take pictures of the artifacts inside the several parts of the museum.

One of the objects that captured our eyes. We named each statue with yeah our names...

We checked in Vila Padi Pakem. It was sooo comfyyy.

Our favorite spot for sure!

My bedroom which I shared with my friend.

The first time I arrived in Yogya, I was craving for this so bad! It's a simple noodle with veggies, shredded chicken and delicious soup.

Then we went to Alun-alun Kota to spend our midnight. We easily attracted to this thing. We picked the one with Hello Kitty due to somebody's request... Don't get deceived, it's a bicycle.

This is hype.

Unique drink, kopi jos. It's a black coffee with charcoal in it.

See you on the next chapter, A Trip to Yogyakarta part 2!

The Dharmawangsa : Bimasena spa & Majapahit Lounge afternoon tea experience

Last Tuesday I was invited by The Dharmawangsa to experience its signature massage named Bimasena Signature Massage for 90 minutes. It was really incredible since its purpose was to make the body fit, fresh & healthy again.

Before the treatment began, I waited here. The room is so comfy I felt sleepy already. I was asked to fill some kind of agreement sheet so they really knew what's best for me, my health condition & that I agreed about the treatment I received.

First was footbath. This is the only treatment's picture I share due to personal reason. The rest was a super energizing massage.

I chose to drink ginger tea after the spa & it tasted so good.

The place where I drank my ginger tea.

After that, I received another generous invitation from The Dharmawangsa to enjoy its famous afternoon tea set at Majapahit Lounge. Couldn't say no to desserts, could we?

This was the western snacks. There were beef carpaccio, finger sandwich, black rice with salmon & cheese, chocolate mousse, macaron, raisin scones, creme brulee & mini cakes (The bold ones were things that I ate). I also got to taste the local desserts such as kue cucur & pastel, believe me.. their kue cucur is so good it's crunchy & sweet. The savory bites I tried were samosa.

This was the raisin scones. I added the raspberry compote to make it even more delicious. It's so yummy.

For the tea, I ordered chamomile tea & I also added a wedge of lemon & a little bit of honey.

Overall, me & the manager of The Dharmawangsa ordered jasmine tea & chamomile tea. All tea come from Jing.

It was such a pleasurable visit. The food was so delightful I was so full that day.

Thank you.

ps: all these experiences were given due to the write-ups for HSBC's Wealth & Beyond magazine.

Kith x Rugrats

Another surprising collaboration between Kith and cartoons. This time it's with Rugrats. I remember I used to watch this cartoon show when I was a kid and my favorite character was Charlie. One of my favorite Nickelodeon show. I also loved the twins though.

From all the pieces of the collection, I mostly adore this tshirt. The collection has cool tshirts and sweatshirts in vibrant colors.

Café Kitsuné: Tofu Chocolat

They're adding a new dessert menu: TOFU CHOCOLAT. It's made from tofu mixed with chocolate so I assume that this would be a lovely light dessert.

It's also totally healthy because it's gluten-free, without any trans-fat acids, dairy products or alcohol used as ingredients.

Plus, you can totally keep the cute package of it if you take it out.

A Trip to Bali part 3

Day 3

The last day... We decided to go to Ku De Ta for brunch. It was one sunny day.

The latest of Ku De Ta fyi

I was having smoothie consisted of raspberry, kiwi and other fruits that I didn't remember. I already had too many sweet and creamy food/drinks in Bali so I thought that having a refreshing sour treat would be the best pick. I needed Vitamin C anyway to keep me fit and healthy

This was hot cakes which was absolutely delicious. The pancakes were so moist and very delightful. The sauce were maple syrup and blueberry

-Checking out

-Went to Krisna to buy gifts

-Lunch at Wardani

-Airport; finally i got to finish watching the rest of Finding Dory

Then oh my God, it's already Jakarta.

A Trip to Bali part 2

Day 2

The second day! We decided to watch Barong dance in Sanur in the morning. We had Western-style breakfast consisted of mushroom, scrambled egg, fried egg and toasts before that.

The minute we wanted to hop on the mini van, we made a little birthday celebration for my aunt.

Chocolate cake from Bali Bakery was specially prepared

Let's go to watch the legendary Barong dance! We got a little late, maybe it was already the 3rd/4th/5th stage of the show when we arrived. I didn't really keep up.

Then we went to Warung Eropa for lunch. I had the creamy Pasta Carbonara and the most sour and refreshing lemonade I've ever drunk.

This one was unique. My cousin ordered Yakult Booze, which was actually an orange-pineapple juice blended together with Yakult. Interesting presentation though

Next, we went to have an indulging gelato at Gusto. The queue was quite insane.

There were so many options! This picture only showed the left part, there was actually another part on the right. I picked one flavor called Prandillo or something, I forgot. You can actually have only one or two different flavors in one cup, both in the same price #happiness

It was this one. So, good

Then, we went to Seminyak Square. I planned to find a perfect swimsuit, but again... failed.

There was a line of local bazaar, selling summer dresses, pants and accessories. The collection was great and the price was quite reasonable. My mom got a printed dress

Returned to villa.

Dipped my feet for a while to release fatigue

Next, getting ready for the real birthday celebration that was birthday dinner at Potato Head Beach Club. Before that, we took some photos together with a black/white dresscode at the villa.

The sunset at Potato Head

For the drink, I ordered Vanilla Ice Coffee

and Handmade Linguini for the main course
